The Electronic Studios, the Department of Art + Design's computer laboratory complex, is a busy, high-energy setting for graphic design and art students. The Studios' Macs are constantly upgraded and augmented to match changes in curriculum, technology and software. With the recent addition of a second Mac Lab, the Studios comprise 80 networked workstations.
- Hours are posted outside each lab.
- No food or beverages - except bottled water - are allowed in these labs.
- Report technical or login problems on the Bulletin Board.

324.5 Ryder Render Farm
The renderfarm is a valuable new addition to our facility and is a growing work-in-progress. A renderfarm is an expandable group of software controlled computers dedicated to the demanding task of rendering frames of animation to a common server. The renderfarm moves this processor intensive task away from local workstations and helps avoid production bottlenecks. Animation students have unlimited 24/7 access year around.

Printing
There are black-and-white and color laser printers in both 307 and 411 Ryder.
The Electronic Studios provide very cost-effective printing on black-and-white laser printers (up to tabloid size) and small format (up to 12" x 18" paper size) color laser printers.
